Ford Puma ST gets mild hybrid powertrain

Date: 09 March 2023   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Ford has introduced a new mild hybrid version of its Puma ST performance model.

It features a 1.0-litre petrol engine with a 48V mild hybrid system, with a total output of 170hp. The powertrain also features Ford's seven-speed, dual-clutch, Powershift automatic transmission.

Ford says this allows acceleration from 0-62mph in 7.4 seconds, along with 44.8mpg fuel economy and 144g/km CO2 emissions.

All the chassis handling upgrades from the existing 1.5-litre petrol ST are retained, including bespoke twist-beam and anti-roll bar settings, and patented force vectoring springs.

The variant also introduces a new Azure Blue exterior paint colour option.

Prices for the Puma ST with the new powertrain are yet to be announced.
