Electric e:Ny1 one of three new Honda SUVs

Date: 12 May 2023   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Honda has unveiled three new SUVs, including its second all-electric model, the e:Ny1.

Also newly-revealed are the C-segment ZR-V, and the sixth-generation CR-V.

The e:Ny1 is built on a newly-developed front-motor EV platform, and features a 204hp electric motor, and a 68.8kWh battery with a range of up to 256 miles on the WLTP cycle, while a 10-80% charge will be possible within 45 minutes.

Interior features include a 15.1in touchscreen.

Turning to the ZR-V, Honda says this new model will sit between the HR-V and CR-V in its product range.

It has a conventional hybrid powertrain that combines a 2.0-litre petrol engine with two electric motors.

Honda says the model's interior has been designed to prioritise usability and flexible stowage capacity, while the boot features a load partition, retractable parcel cover, and under floor storage, allowing up to 1,291 litres of luggage space.

As for the new CR-V, this will be available as either a conventional hybrid, or for the first time in Europe, a plug-in hybrid. Both feature a 2.0-litre petrol engine, but the latter will be able to travel up to 51 miles on battery power alone.

Wider, longer, and taller than the outgoing CR-V, Honda says the new model offers more interior space, including 16mm more rear legroom, and 118% more luggage capacity.

The new CR-V will be the first Honda to feature the brand's new Sensing 360 assistance system, designed to remove blind spots around the vehicle.

Honda has said the ZR-V will be available from this Autumn, and the new CR-V from later this year, while no release date has yet been confirmed for the e:Ny1. UK specs and prices for all are yet to be announced.
