New Mini Cooper Electric unveiled

Date: 03 May 2023   |   Author: Sean Keywood

The first model in the new fifth-generation Mini hatch line-up has been revealed in camouflaged prototype form.

The Cooper Electric is a three-door hatch that will be available with a choice of two powertrains - Cooper E, with 184hp, and Cooper SE, with 218hp.

Battery capacities are 40.7kWh and 54.2kWh, which Mini says will mean ranges of between 186 and 249 miles.

The car's interior layout is said to allow the luggage compartment to be expanded, and include four seats.

Production of the new Cooper Electric is set to begin later this year. UK specs and prices are yet to be announced.
