Prime Video added to Volvo and Polestar vehicles

Date: 14 September 2023   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Volvo and Polestar are introducing Prime Video for download to their cars via Google Play, using their Android-based infotainment systems.

Volvo says the service will become available as a pre-installed app starting from 18 September, with a gradual rollout via over-the-air update market by market.

Video streaming will only be available when cars are stationary.

In addition, Volvo says YouTube will also be made available soon - it launched on the Polestar 2 in June.

Volvo global head of new car programmes Erik Severinson said: "Adding access to services such as Prime Video and YouTube in our cars bolsters the continuously growing list of software and applications to make lives for our drivers better."
