New MG3 unveiled with hybrid powertrain

Date: 26 February 2024   |   Author: Sean Keywood

A new-generation version of the MG3 small car has been unveiled, featuring a new hybrid powertrain.

A combination of a 102hp, 1.5-litre petrol engine and a 136hp electric motor produces a total of 194hp, with provisional fuel economy and CO2 emissions figures of 64mpg and 100g/km respectively.

The new MG3 is longer and wider than the outgoing model, and will be available in the UK with a choice of SE and Trophy equipment grades.

Standard features will include a 7in driver display, 10.25in infotainment screen, sat-nav, Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity, air conditioning, rear parking sensors, and a reversing camera.

Trophy models are set to come with leather-style upholstery, keyless entry, heated front seats and steering wheel, and a 360-degree camera system.

UK prices and an on-sale date are yet to be confirmed.
