Nissan introduces app-based stolen vehicle tracking service

Date: 13 February 2024   |   Author: Sean Keywood

A new stolen vehicle tracking function is being added to the NissanConnect Services app in the UK this month.

A subscription service, provided in collaboration with Vodafone Automotive, it allows connected vehicles to be tracked and located using the vehicle's GPS.

The service provider will collaborate with law enforcement authorities to track the vehicle and coordinate its recovery. If requested by the authorities, the vehicle's ignition could be deactivated remotely by the Vodafone operator.

The function is available with the Ariya EV, and with Qashqai SUVs produced from June 2022, and X-Trail SUVs produced since September 2022.

Drivers can check if their vehicle is compatible by going to the Nissan Store section of the NissanConnect Services app.
