Citroen announces powertrain updates for C4 models

Date: 04 March 2024   |   Author: Sean Keywood

Citroen has introduced a new mild hybrid powertrain option for its C4 and C4 X, and made a bigger battery and more powerful motor available with its E-C4 and E-C4 X.

The new 48V hybrid powertrain for the C4 and C4 X produces 136hp, and according to Citroen produces 20% less CO2 than the equivalent pure petrol engine.

The new EV powertrain for the E-C4 and E-C4 X features a 54kWh battery, and a 156hp motor, representing increases compared with the existing 50kWh and 136hp powertrain. The new powertrain offers a range increase of 37 miles on the WLTP cycle.

The new hybrid powertrain is available with the Plus and Max equipment grades in the C4 and C4 X line-ups, while the new EV powertrain is available with the Max and E-Series grades in the E-C4 and E-C4 X line-ups.

In addition, Citroen has also announced the availability of new Okenite White and Eclipse Blue metallic paint colours for all the above models.

Prices for the new powertrains start at £26,350 with the C4 and C4 X, and £36,105 with the E-C4 and E-C4 X.
