BusinessCar award-winning company the AA has recruited six new technicians to assist drivers that have put the wrong fuel in their car.
AA Fuel Assist was launched in November of last year and is available to both members and non-members of the AA.
According to the AA, misfuels have doubled in number over the past 10 years, meaning there are now around 150,000 annually.
Donald MacSporran, AA technical performance manger, said the increased demand for the service “is being driven by the growth in diesel car sales – they’re so quiet and powerful that people sometimes forget they’re driving one”.
The AA claims the roadside service is able to get 99% of cars back on the road after the 45-minute draining process, saving drivers from a potential £5000 repair bill.
