Insurer Allianz UK has committed to having a fully electric corporate fleet by the end of 2030.

The company said this followed on from trialling a new fleet vehicle order process during 2025, which had resulted in 160 new EV orders, bringing its total number of EVs to 307, or 28% of the total fleet.

Allianz’s procurement team oversaw a programme including an employee panel to test drive vehicles and benchmark the EVs, and also tested adapted vehicles for drivers with different physical needs.

The company has also introduced a new driver app to accurately record business mileage and allow it to track car travel and emissions more efficiently.

The fleet initiative is said to be a crucial part of Allianz UK’s sustainability strategy, which aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 70% per employee by the end of 2030.

Allianz UK head of sustainability Bethany Thomas said: “This move is an important one for us and underscores our commitment to sustainability, not only as an insurer but also as an employer.

“To support our customers across the country we need our employees on the road in vehicles fit for purpose that also align with our net-zero strategy.

“By driving towards a greener future we are being clear in our aims and taking action to achieve them.”
