Customers of fuel card firm Allstar are now able to search, plan, and pay for EV charging through the Zap-Map app, after the two companies’ previously-announced partnership came into force.
It means drivers can now add their Allstar Electric card details to the Zap-Map app, and pay for charging at participating sites on the Allstar network via Zap-Pay, a single-app payment system designed to avoid the hassle of using multiple payment methods across different networks.
In addition to making payments, Allstar customers can also use the Zap-Map app to search for chargers across the Allstar network, and access real-time data on charger availability, while being able to plan and save routes via the in-app route planner.
Allstar Electric card holders can track their Zap-Pay charging history and vehicle mileage through the app, and all transactions are streamlined on one consolidated HMRC-compliant invoice for businesses.
Allstar Business Solutions managing director of UK fuel Paul Holland said: “Partnering with Zap-Map has been a key strategic move for Allstar, allowing us to offer our customers a simplified, seamless in-app experience when charging on the road.
“Together we are able to support businesses through every step of their EV charging journey, whether that’s making it easier to search for a charging location, offering route planning and live updates on the status of charging points, or easing the payment process.
“By increasing convenience for our customers and simplifying charging in this way, we are helping to remove some of the biggest barriers to entry for potential EV fleets.”
Zap-Map commercial director Alex Earl said: “Zap-Map’s mission is to make charging simple – by enabling EV drivers to search for charge points, plan longer electric journeys, pay on multiple networks, and share updates with other EV drivers – all in one app.
“That’s exactly why the Zap-Map app requires no membership or subscription fee for Allstar Electric customers, thus allowing drivers to plan longer electric journeys and helping to streamline payment for EV charging on the road.”
