Audi has revealed the eco version of its A4 will dip below the 120g/km barrier, making it the first car in its class to do so.
Powered by a 136PS 2.0-litre diesel the Audi A4e comes in at 119g/km and has an official fuel figure of 61.4mpg. Alongside this Audi claims the saloon version has a 0-62mph time of 9.5 seconds and has a top speed of 134mph.
Audi attributes the ultra-low CO2 figure, which will qualify the A4e for the 13% benefit-in-kind tax band, to a range of eco technology. This includes low rolling resistance tyres, stop-start technology, a longer spaced six-speed gearbox, under-body aerodynamic tray and lower ride height.
Audi has yet to reveal UK pricing but the car is expect in this country at the end of 2009 or early 2010.
