Audi has announced a 99g/km version of its A1 TDI staring from £14,480.
Previously, the 1.6-litre diesel engine emitted 105g/km with economy of 70.6mpg, which has now increased to 74.3mpg.
The car is available to order in SE, Sport and S line trims. Features on the base specification include alloy wheels, remote central locking, air conditioning, electric front windows and mirrors and a six-speaker CD audio system with auxiliary iPod connection linked to a 6.5-inch retractable display.
The carmaker said the improvements had been achieved by engine start-stop and energy recuperation systems.
The model joins the Audi A3 1.6 TDI in offering sub-100g/km CO2 while the brand’s upper-medium A4 TDI Saloon emits 120g/km and the A6 TDI offers 129g/km.
