Accident management company AX has ordered more than 500 new cars for its fleet, from BMW and Mini.
The firm is expanding the size of its replacement vehicle fleet, provided to customer drivers following accidents.
AX says 28% of the order is for fully electric or plug-in hybrid models, including BMW i4, i5, iX1 (pictured), and iX2 cars. It says this feeds into its EV-for-EV replacement policy, meaning EV drivers do not have to swap back into an ICE car while theirs is off the road.
The order also includes BMW 1 Series, 2 Series, and 3 Series models, and 25 Minis.
AX fleet and logistics director Dan Cripps said: “The focal point of our business has always been customer service, that is what has enabled us to thrive and will continue to underpin our operations through both our AX and Motor Assist brands.
“With this purchase of hundreds of superb BMW models, we are ensuring that our partners and their drivers will receive the absolute best and most appropriate replacement vehicles in a timely manner.
“It is a real privilege to collaborate with BMW and we are pleased to have such a stable foundation as a business which allows us to add to our fleet to deliver even better customer service.
“We have also taken huge strides to electrify our own company cars, minimising our environmental impact for the long term. We have made a concerted effort to establish a robust ESG policy and by adopting more EVs, it represents another step towards greater sustainability.”
