BP has introduced a method for using the European Electronic Toll Service (EETS) for UK fleets.
The BP Tollbox for EETS has been designed to make operations simpler when crossing borders, with one ‘plug-in and go’ installation of the on-board unit, and compatibility with the BP + Aral fuel card enabling drivers to invoice for fuels and tolls at the same time.
As well as the on-board unit, there is also a web portal that allows fleet managers to handle all the reporting in one place.
BP says the Tollbox can also be easily switched between different vehicles.
The service was first piloted in 2018, and arrives in the UK ollowing a successful launch in other European countries such as Germany, Austria and the Netherlands.
It is currently being accepted for tolls in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, Portugal and Spain, as well as some locations in Poland.
Full Polish coverage, as well as acceptance in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia is due to be added in future.
BP UK fuel card manager Jo McDonnell said: “We are excited to offer fleet managers and drivers a sophisticated technical solution to border crossing with the BP Tollbox for EETS.
“After a successful launch in Europe last year, the BP Tollbox for EETS now eases travel across nine European countries.
“We know its debut in the UK will help increase fleet transparency and significantly reduce administrative efforts.”
