Citroen’s premium brand, DS, has revealed its facelifted DS4 and new DS4 Crossback models ahead of their debuts at this year’s Frankfurt motor show. Both are due to go on sale in the UK from November.
The DS4 will be launched with six engines – three diesels and three petrols – emitting between 100 and 138g/km of CO2.
However, the Crossback go on sale with two engines: a 130hp petrol – which emits 119g/km of CO2 and returns 55.4mpg – and a 120hp diesel – which emits 100g/km of CO2 and returns 74.3mpg.
The DS4 Crossback sits 30mm higher off the ground than the standard model, which DS claims makes it an “alternative to conventional hatchbacks”, gaining added off-road style.
Styling changes to the DS4 include a vertical grille with the DS logo, LED headlights, black trim on the DS4 Crossback and body-coloured trim on the DS4 hatchback. The vehicles also feature a panoramic windscreen, which stretches a long way towards the roof.
On the technology front, the DS4 is the first vehicle in PSA’s range to offer Apple CarPlay and Mirror Link capability, letting drivers connect both Apple and Androd devices, while both vehicles feature the firm’s seven-inch colour touchscreen media system.
Both vehicles will also be available with the DS Connect Box which includes:
SOS & Assistance pack: An automatic call system used to locate the vehicle and obtain assistance in the event of an emergency or breakdown.
Monitoring pack: A virtual maintenance manual with automatic mileage monitoring, notification of upcoming services and eco-driving tips based on technical information provided by the car.
Mapping pack: locates the vehicle and sends an email if the vehicle enters or leaves a given geographical area.
Tracking pack: provides the police with the vehicle’s geographical position in the event of theft.
UK pricing and specification details are expected to be announced nearer to the on-sale date.
