Jaguar is looking to capture fleet sales from BMW, Audi and Mercedes with its new XE model which is confirmed to launch with a 99g/km CO2 version.
The saloon will launch with a new 163hp 2.0-litre i4 diesel and the Ford-sourced 3.0-litre supercharged V6 petrol. The diesel is part of the new Ingenium family of engines that is launched with the XE.
The engine can manage an official 75mpg and the XE will come with an eight-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission.
UK pricing has not been confirmed but is expected to start at about £27,000, which puts it into BMW 320d territory. The first deliveries will be in Spring 2015.
