Ford has its extended its contract to supply Fiestas and Focus’ for a further three years to the AA’s driving school.
The agreement was originally struck in 1998, and will now continue until the middle of 2017.
The school’s instructors will take delivery of around 2000 new blue oval vehicles each year.
Ford and the AA predict the 1.0-litre Ecoboost models will be the most popular, thanks to the engine’s fuel efficiency. The Fiesta version emits 99g/k CO2 and returns 65.7mpg on the official cycle, while the Focus variant emits 109g/km.
“We are very pleased to be continuing this long-standing agreement with Ford for a further three years. We are constantly competitively benchmarking and Ford always comes out as the manufacturer with the best model range, the cars most suitable for tuition purposes, and with the most competitive pricing, said Sarah Dopson, head of fleet, AA.
