Ford’s small off-roader, to be named Kuga, will be revealed in production form at the Frankfurt motor show in September.
First seen at last year’s Paris show as a concept car badged Iosis X, the new small off-roader will go on sale next year and give Ford a rival to the Vauxhall Antara, Toyota RAV4 and Honda CR-V.
As this new sketch shows, the production car is expected to remain faithful to the styling of the concept.
Originally expected to be called X-max, in line with the C-max and S-max, Ford executives have opted to give the car a ‘proper’ name with the Kuga badge.
First official pictures of the car are set to be revealed at the start of September.
The all-new Ford Kuga will go into production early in 2008 at Ford’s Saarlouis plant in Germany. It will be launched across Europe from spring 2008.
