Toyota‘s second hybrid model, and the first to be spun-off an existing vehicle, will be previewed by a concept car at this month’s Frankfurt motor show.

The Auris HSD Full Hybrid Concept is a precursor to the production lower medium model that will be built in the UK at the firm’s Derbyshire factory from the middle of next year.

Price, emissions and economy figures are still yet to be revealed, but the Auris’s sister car, Toyota’s hybrid-only Prius, achieves 87g/km and 70.6mpg.

Toyota is also to unveil its plug-in electric Prius at Frankfurt ahead of a 150-vehicle European trial kicking off next year.
