British Gas is expecting a 15% saving on fuel costs and 18% boost in driver compliance after signing a deal with Trimble.
The telematic firm’s Driver DNA hardware will be fitted to the vehicles of 8000 mobile field engineers, monitoring driver behaviour, vehicle condition, faults, fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions, as well as tracking vehicle location and activity.
The deal follows one signed with British Telecom earlier this year for the communication company’s 17,000 mobile workers.
