Hyundai has developed a superhero-themed special edition version of its Kona SUV.
The Iron Man Edition is the result of a collaboration with Marvel. It gets distinguishing features like matte grey and ‘red armour’ exterior paintwork, bespoke 18in alloy wheels, Iron Man emblems on the front wings and puddle lamps, and a red bonnet bezel with Marvel logo.
Inside, the leather seats feature red stitching, and piping and the heated and ventilated front seats are embossed with the Stark Industries logo and an Iron Man image on the backrests. The car’s 8in touchscreen and instrument display both display Iron Man eyes during system check.
The instrument cluster, tachometer and gear lever also feature the Stark Industries Arc Reactor as a background graphic, and there’s a ‘Tony Stark’ signature on the dashboard.
Other equipment is taken from the regular Kona range, including automatic LED head and tail lights, keyless entry, Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity, climate control and a driver’s head-up display.
Safety equipment includes autonomous emergency braking, blind spot detection, downhill brake control, driver attention alert, lane keep assist and rear cross traffic alert.
All 300 Iron Man Edition cars coming to the UK feature the same powertrain: a 1.6-litre, 177hp petrol engine, seven-speed automatic gearbox and front-wheel drive.
Official combined fuel economy and CO2 emissions are 38.7mpg and 142g/km respectively.
The Kona Iron Man Edition will arrive in showrooms on 1 March.
