Kwik-Fit claims to have seen a boom in demand from fleets for car and van mechanical work from businesses looking to reduce operating costs.
In 2010 Kwik-Fit Fleet reported a sharp rise in the number of MoTs, vehicle servicing and brake part replacements it carried out and has targeted a further increase through its centres this year.
The fast-fit giant undertook 35,666 MoTs on fleet vehicles last year – up from 23,927 in 2009. Brake-related jobs increased by almost 5500 to 59,248 and services on company cars and vans increased 16% compared with 2009.
In recent years Kwik-Fit has been focusing on building up mechanical work through its 669 sites to complement its core tyre repair and replacement business.
Kwik-Fit Fleet sales director Peter Lambert said: “Typically existing fleet customers first look to Kwik-Fit to undertake MoTs. Following that experience they are more than happy for our technicians to undertake more complex brake and servicing work.”
