Volkswagen has confirmed that 127 business car orders and 127 retail sales in the UK are affected by changes to the official CO2 levels for six models.
In November last year, the company admitted there were irregularities in the way some models’ CO2 figures were calculated.
Following an internal investigation, the company found there were deviations in six of the models tested.
VW has published new values for all of the affected models – the Golf hatchback, Golf cabrio, Golf Estate, Passat, Scirocco and Jetta.
“Customers who are already driving these vehicles are not affected by these restated figures as their cars’ CO2 values remain unchanged – there are no retrospective consequences,” a VW statement read.
“Those customers who have ordered one of these affected vehicles and are awaiting delivery will be offered clear options from their retailer: They can either proceed with the purchase acknowledging notification of the new values, cancel the order or order a different Volkswagen model,” the statement continued.
“For the second two options of course there is no penalty for the customers,” VW added.
