Kia has made a new equipment grade available with the plug-in hybrid version of its Niro.

Previously available only with the 3 grade, the Niro PHEV is now also available in 2 spec.

This is priced at £30,265, meaning the entry point to the Niro PHEV range has come down by £1,680.

Standard equipment with the 2 grade includes an 8in touchscreen with DAB radio, Apple Carplay and Android Auto, front and rear parking sensors, a reversing camera with guide lines, roof rails, and a towing pack that allows the Niro PHEV to pull a braked trailer up to a maximum weight of 1,300kg.

Other standard features include 16in alloy wheels, part leather and cloth upholstery, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, an auto-dimming rear view mirror, and electrically folding, adjustable and heated door mirrors with LED indicators.

Standard safety equipment includes smart cruise control with stop and go, lane keep assist, lane follow assist, hill start assist and autonomous emergency braking.

The introduction of the 2 grade follows a facelift that was given to the Niro in autumn 2019, which included a revised exterior design, an updated interior and the addition of an electronic parking brake with auto-hold.

The Niro PHEV 2 is available to order now.
