Automotive data supplier KeeResources has won a five-year contract to supply code management data to FleetNet.
Not-for-profit FleetNet is a user group of 75 fleet organisations, and its FleetNet Code is the vehicle rental and leasing standard for electronic and commerce. It had been managed by Cap before the latest tender, where KeeResources, which also supplies BusinessCar’s whole-life cost data for its test reports through the Kwikcarcost brand, was selected from a three-company shortlist.
The standardised code is developed to allow users to bolt-on elements from their individual suppliers, such as RV data, to the core universal system. It also enables companies to switch between different suppliers safe in the knowledge that the systems will be compatible. It’s used by most of the top 20 leasing firms in the UK, as well as many service suppliers.
“The sub-committee unanimously recommended KeeResources as the new provider, along with acceptance of all documentation, and its recommendation was accepted and endorsed by the steering committee, said Colin Mallin, FleetNet secretary. In every area, KeeResources’ data production meets all FleetNet output standards and conventions.”
“Having been major supporters of FleetNet for many years, we are delighted to win this contract with FleetNet, which we feel to be an endorsement of the very high quality standards of the data that we provide to the industry as a whole,” said KeeResources MD Denis Keenan “From a shortlist of three, our tender response was selected as offering FleetNet the most advantageous and robust supply of data and we are committed to constant development of the code to maintain the highest standards within the vehicle rental and leasing industry.”
The tender is effective from February 2011, and was decided following a tender process conducted by a FleetNet sub-committee.
