HM Revenue & Customs has announced its new advisory fuel rates active from 1 June, though the figures which help set the payments for reimbursing drivers for fuel used in a company car are already behind the national average.
There are slight increases for some categories since December’s last revision, but the 121.9p per litre price for diesel used by HMRC is already 1.5p per litre behind the average nationwide figure quoted by fuel card giant Arval, while the 119.9p per litre for unleaded is 1.6p behind.
The LPG figure used by HMRC, on the other hand, is 0.3p above Arval’s nationwide average figure of 65.1p.
The rates will next be reviewed in late November, though HMRC can make changes before then if fuel prices fluctuate by more than 5%.
