Jeep has unveiled the new, third-generation version of its Compass medium SUV.

The new model will be offered with a choice of fully electric, plug-in hybrid, and 48V hybrid powertrains.

Full EVs will be available with power outputs of between 213hp and 375hp, and a range of up to 403 miles. A 160kW DC charging capacity will allow a 20-80% recharge in 30 minutes.

The plug-in hybrid will have an output of 195hp, and the 48V hybrid will have an output of 145hp.

Based on parent company Stellantis’s STLA Medium platform, the new Jeep Compass is 4.55m long. Compared with the previous model, it is said to feature a 55mm increase in legroom, while boot capacity is up by 45 litres to 550 litres.

Standard equipment will include a 10in instrument cluster, and a 16in infotainment screen.

The new Compass will launch with a First Edition spec, available with either 48V hybrid or 213hp EV powertrains, and equipment including 20in wheels, LED matrix headlights, sat-nav, Level 2 driving assistance, and a hands-free powered tailgate.

Orders will open this summer, with the first deliveries set to begin in Q4.
