MG has revealed two new EVs – the IM5 executive saloon and the IM6 SUV.
According to MG, the new models are the most innovative in its range, with the IM designation referring to ‘Intelligence in Motion’.
The IM5 will be offered with a choice of 75kWh and 100kWh batteries, while the IM6 will come with the 100kWh battery only. 800V architecture will allow a 10-80% charge in 17 minutes, with a range on a full battery of up to 441 miles with the IM5.
There will be a choice of single and dual motor powertrains, with 0-62mph acceleration in as little as 3.2 seconds for the IM5, and 3.5 seconds for the IM6.
Technology available with the models will include One Touch Park Assist, said to be capable of completing complex parking manoeuvres automatically. A rear-wheel steering system allows a turning circle of 9.98m with the IM5.
Interior features will include a 26.3in infotainment display, supported by a 10.5in touchscreen.
Prices for the IM5 will start at £39,450 for a Standard 75kWh version, rising to £44,995 for a Long Range 100kWh version, and £48,495 for a 100kWh Performance version.
Prices for the IM6 will start at £47,995 for a Long Range 100kWh version, rising to £50,995 for a Performance version, and £52,995 for a Launch Edition version.
