Mercedes has introduced a nine-speed automatic gearbox. Available only on the E350 Bluetec diesel, the new gearbox, along with other measures, helps to reduce emissions for the powerful saloon by up to 17g/km, taking it down to 139g/km.
Power, meanwhile, for the model increases 6hp, meaning the E350 now boasts 258hp. At the same time a more powerful, cleaner version of the business-friendly E220 Bluetec diesel has also been introduced. Power is up 7hp to 177hp while emissions are down to 116g/km (cut by 16g/km) with the existing seven-speed auto.
All Mercedes E-class models now also come with Collision Prevention Assist as standard. The system warns of an impending collision, taking over full braking if it doesn’t detect a driver reaction.
