Renault has announced updated powertrains for its Captur and Symbioz SUVs.
Both models are now available with a 160hp hybrid powertrain, which replaces the previous 145hp hybrid in both ranges. The new powertrain features a larger, 1.8-litre petrol engine, along with a battery capacity increased from 1.26kWh to 1.4kWh.
Renault says the new powertrain uses 5% less fuel than its predecessor, with CO2 emissions of 97g/km. In addition, towing capacity is up from 750kg to 1,000kg.
Prices for the Captur small SUV (pictured) with the new powertrain start at £25,195, while with the Symbioz medium SUV the new powertrain is available from £29,795.
Renault has also announced the addition of a 140hp mild hybrid option to the Symbioz medium SUV range, with WLTP combined fuel economy of 47.9mpg and CO2 emissions of 133g/km. This powertrain creates a new entry point to the Symbioz range, from £27,395.
As for the Captur small SUV, this has also received a spec upgrade, with all equipment grades now featuring an electric parking brake with auto-hold as standard, and adaptive cruise control with speed limiter included with the mid-range Techno grade and up for all hybrid models.
Standard equipment with the range-topping Esprit Alpine grade now includes lane centering, occupant safe exit, blind spot recognition, rear detection with emergency lane keeping assist, and rear cross traffic alert systems, as well as a new child locking function for the rear doors and windows.
