Skoda has announced further details of its new Scala hatchback, set to arrive in the UK this summer.

Extra kit with Scala SEs will include cruise control, rear parking sensors, an 8in touchscreen, an integrated umbrella and a height-adjustable passenger seat.

Stepping up to SE L will add further equipment including: 17in alloys; full LED rear lights; dynamic indicators; rear privacy glass; silver Microsuede seat trims; chrome interior detailing; a 9.2in touchscreen; digital cockpit; climate control; keyless entry and start; and a colour multifunction trim computer.

Prices will start at £16,595 for S, £18,580 for SE and £20,380 for SE L.

Three engines will be available at launch – a 1.0-litre petrol with 115hp, a 1.6-litre diesel with 115hp and a 1.5-litre petrol with 150hp, all available with manual or automatic transmission.

An entry-level 1.0-litre petrol with 95hp, available with manual transmission only, will join the range later in the summer.

Scala orders will open in May. Fuel economy and emissions figures are yet to be confirmed.
