Subaru has revealed the Solterra, its first battery EV.
Built on a platform jointly developed with Toyota, the Solterra is a five-seater SUV measuring 4,690mm in length.
It is to be offered as a front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive model – the former with a single 201hp motor, the latter with two 107hp motors, one on each axle.
Both will come with a 71.4kWh battery, and be capable of recharging at up to 150kW.
According to Subaru, the Solterra shares the same X-Mode system as its other all-wheel drive cars, and will also feature a new Grip Control function, designed to allow the vehicle to run at a constant speed while stabilizing the vehicle even on rough roads.
The Solterra will be launched in Europe by the middle of 2022. UK specs and prices are yet to be confirmed.
