Volkswagen has unveiled a new, second-generation version of its T-Roc compact SUV.

The new T-Roc is 12cm longer than the outgoing model, which VW says allows for improved interior space. Boot capacity is also up by 30 litres to 475 litres.

Other interior features include an infotainment screen measuring up to 33cm.

The new T-Roc will launch with two 48V mild hybrid petrol engine options, with 116hp and 150hp. The range will subsequently be joined by two full hybrids, and a T-Roc R performance version.

Available driver assistance systems will include a new development stage of Travel Assist, which allows automatic lane changing and offers more foresight of speed limit changes, and Park Assist Pro, which can carry out fully automatic parking at distances up to 50m.

UK specs and prices for the new T-Roc are yet to be announced.
