Volkswagen has introduced a new Black Edition version of its Tiguan SUV.

It sits between the R-Line Edition and R-Line equipment grades in the range, with features including body-coloured bumpers, rear privacy glass, black decorative trims and exterior mirror housings, 20in black alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, and metallic paint.

Also included are seven-speed DSG automatic transmission, sat-nav, and a heated leather steering wheel.

Engine options with the Black Edition are a 190hp petrol, priced at £42,340, a 150hp diesel, priced at £42,930, a 200hp diesel, priced at £45,275, and a 245hp plug-in hybrid, priced at £42,835.

All the above expect for the PHEV come with four-wheel drive, and go on sale on 4 July, while the PHEV goes on sale on 13 July.

A new-generation Tiguan is expected to be unveiled later this year.
