Citroen has opened orders for the new Extended Range version of its E-C3 Aircross small electric SUV.

The model features a 54kWh battery, which provides a range of up to 249 miles on the official WLTP combined cycle.

The new variant joins the existing 44kWh Standard Range in the E-C3 Aircross line-up, comes with the same 113hp electric motor, and is available with both Plus and Max equipment grades.

The Extended Range can be charged from 20-80% battery in 28 minutes via 100kW DC rapid charging, and in just over five hours using a 7kW AC charger.

Citroen says that, despite a bigger battery being fitted, there is no compromise in interior space.

Prices for the E-C3 Aircross Extended Range, excluding the UK Government’s Electric Car Grant, are £24,995 with the Plus grade and £26,995 with the Max grade, representing a £1,900 premium compared with Standard Range cars.
