Peugeot has taken the wraps off an estate version of its new 508 large family car.
Design features on the 508 SW include frameless doors, and what Peugeot calls the Magic Flat function, which allows the two sides of the rear bench seat to be folded back, creating a total boot capacity of 1,780 litres, or 530 litres with all the seats in place.
The interior also features the latest version of Peugeot’s i-Cockpit dashboard layout and a ten-speaker Focal sound system.
Available driver assistance technology includes adaptive cruise control with stop and go, lane keep assist and a night vision system, with the latter using an infrared camera to detect people or animals in front of the car at night or in low-visibility conditions.
Initial engine options will be 180hp and 225hp petrols, and 130hp, 160hp and 180hp diesels.
Transmission options will be a six-speed manual and an eight-speed automatic.
A plug-in hybrid version is set to follow in the second half of 2019.
The 508 SW will make its public debut at the Paris Motor Show in October and will be available in the UK from January next year.
Prices and full specifications are yet to be confirmed.
