Electric vehicle (EV) charge point firm Pod Point has signed a three-year preferred supplier deal with pub company Fuller’s.
The deal has launched with new charge point installations at 10 venues in London and the South East, in addition to the three Fuller’s sites which already have Pod Point charging facilities.
The new charge points are free to use for customers and staff.
Pod Point will also be working with Fuller’s on a trial monitoring the average daily mileage of its vehicle fleet, with the aim of identifying which parts of it could be easily switched to EVs.
Pod Point CEO and founder Erik Fairbairn said: “EV drivers will be saying cheers to Fuller’s now that they can relax with a meal and a – non-alcoholic – drink while topping up their charge.
“EV charging should be something drivers don’t have to think about and having charge points available in locations where people typically spend an hour or more is hugely important in supporting the UK’s transition to EVs.”
Fuller’s managing director Jonathon Swaine said: “We’re always looking to give our customers more reasons to visit our pubs and free charging will be a popular incentive for the growing community of EV drivers.
“We’ll seek to build on these initial installs and rollout to more pubs as the number of EV drivers continues to rise.”
