Nissan has announced prices for its Qashqai medium SUV with a newly updated version of its E-Power powertrain.
The E-Power system features a 1.5-litre petrol engine which is used purely to generate electricity and recharge the onboard battery, with an electric motor driving the wheels.
Nissan says new upgrades to the system include a 15% improvement in fuel economy on the official WLTP cycle, to 62.8mpg, and a 12% reduction in CO2 emissions, to 102g/km.
Peak power is also increased to 205hp, while cabin noise is said to be reduced by up to 5.6dB, and the model’s service intervals have been increased from 9,000 to 12,000 miles.
Prices for the updated Qashqai E-Power start at £34,860 with the Acenta Premium equipment grade, and rise to £37,330 with the N-Connecta grade, £39,680 with the N-Design and Tekna grades, and £43,210 with the Tekna+ grade. These prices are all unchanged from before the update, except for a £50 reduction for the N-Design and Tekna grades.
