Renault has confirmed UK specs and prices for its new Megane E-Tech Electric.
The new model, the first to be built on the manufacturer’s new purpose-built EV platform, features a 217hp electric motor, with a 60kWh battery, allowing a range between charges of up to 280 miles on the official WLTP cycle. A maximum DC charging capability of 130kW allows up to 186 miles of range to be added in 30 minutes.
Three equipment grades are available: Equilibre, Techno, and Launch Edition.
Standard equipment with Equilibre spec includes 18in alloy wheels, full LED headlights, air conditioning, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, rear park assist, a reversing camera, a 12.3in driver display, a 9in infotainment display with sat-nav, Apple Carplay and Android Auto connectivity, and keyless entry.
Standard driver assistance systems include distance warning alert, traffic sign recognition, automatic emergency braking with junction assist including pedestrian and cyclist alerts, cruise control with speed limiter, driver drowsiness alert, emergency lane keeping assist with oncoming traffic and road-edge detection, and hill start assist.
Further standard equipment with the Techno grade includes 20in alloy wheels, full adaptive LED headlights with automatic high/low beam, tinted rear windows, automatic dual-zone climate control, automatic windscreen wipers, electric front seat height and lumbar adjustment, Google Assistant, Maps, and Play store, wireless smartphone charging, adaptive cruise control with speed limiter and lane centring, traffic sign recognition with overspeed prevention, blind spot recognition and intervention, rear cross traffic alert with rear automatic braking, and front park assist.
Launch Edition adds different alloy wheel designs, a nine-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, a smart rear-view mirror, and an around-view 3D camera system.
Prices start at £35,995 for Equilibre spec, and rise to £38,495 for Techno, and £39,995 for Launch Edition.
Pre-orders are open now, with the first deliveries expected later this year.
