Renault has signed a three-year deal with Red Driving School to supply Clios to the firm’s driving instructors.
The cars are being supplied through Renault’s finance arm on 18-month contracts which Renault said will save instructors around £240 a month.
The Clio will be offered in Expression+ trim level with either a 90hp petrol or diesel engine powering it. It will have dual controls fitted.
A Renault spokesman told BusinessCar that the firm has already delivered 50 vehicles in the first batch. There is no set amount of vehicles in the deal, but the spokesman said the French firm is expecting to supply a few hundred vehicles. “It depends how many drivers take it up,” he said.
“We found the Clio to be an excellent training and tuition car. On top of that, the industry-leading finance rates we are able to offer instructors means the Clio could offer them significant cost savings too,” said Ian McIntosh, chief executive at Red.
