Interactive Driving Systems hosted its second Virtual Risk Manager users’ safety benchmarking forum in March.
A total of 10 UK and global fleets representing 165,000 employees that drive for work took part in the discussion, which focused on current process issues and key performance indicators.
Issues covered included; injury management and the importance of early claim notifications, clear definitions of collisions and incidents, understanding claims and targeting practical interventions at specific risks.
The importance of telematics both for fleet monitoring and as an intervention tool for at-risk drivers was also on the agenda.
The forum also focused on the importance of forward planning for safe winter driving, the continuing problem of fraud and staged collisions, driver competence – especially recognition of high quality performance and flagging up online DVLA checks, which are now becoming cheaper.
