Alphabet, the BMW-owned fleet funding company, has promoted the boss of its UK operation to an international role.
BusinessCar blogger Mark Sinclair, who has led Alphabet in the UK since 2007, will take up a new position based in Munich from next month.
Sinclair will be responsible for co-ordinating the company’s international business development plans. This will involve restructuring the business and its product range as well as providing mobility management across the 13 countries where Alphabet operates.
Sinclair joined Alphabet GB in 2000 and played a key role in successfully steering the business through the economic slump that started in 2008.
Alphabet said 2009 and 2010 were its most profitable years to date, with last year seeing unprecedented growth in new business with 20,000 orders taken.
The company manages a fleet of 46,000 vehicles in the UK and supplies 300,000 vehicles worldwide.
