A slight change to the home charging advisory electric rate (AER) for company car mileage reimbursement has been introduced by HMRC.
The rate has changed from 8p to 7p.
The public charging AER has remained at 14p, while all advisory fuel rates (AFRs) for petrol, diesel, and LPG cars have remained unchanged from the levels applied from September.
Hybrids are treated as either petrol or diesel cars for AFR purposes.
The new rates apply from 1 December, but the old rates can still be used for up to one month from that date.
The rates per mile are as follows:
Petrol:
1,400cc or less: 12p
1,401cc to 2,000cc: 14p
Over 2,000cc: 22p
Diesel:
1,600cc or less: 12p
1,601cc to 2,000cc: 13p
Over 2,000cc: 18p
LPG:
1,400cc or less: 11p
1,401cc to 2,000cc: 13p
Over 2,000cc: 21p
Electric:
Home charger: 7p (down by 1p)
Public charger: 14p
