Stoke-on-Trent City Council has taken on six new Citroen C3s, making it one of the fleet orders for the new vehicle.
The new vehicles will be used by council staff who work with vulnerable residents, and the fleet has been finished in a wide range of colours.
Citroen’s contract was secured following a competitive tender process. The new vehicles have been supplied with an extended warranty, providing cover for five years/100,000 miles – the expected service life of the cars with the Midlands council.
It is not the first time the council has taken on Citroen models, with this order following on from two earlier fleet deliveries of the C4 Grand Picasso and Relay vans.
“This is a significant public sector order for the new Citroen C3, following so swiftly after the car’s launch at the beginning of January,” said Martin Gurney, PSA Group UK fleet director. “It shows the C3 offers a competitive edge in a sector where there is tough competition. We take it as a compliment that a demanding public sector customer such as Stoke-on-Trent City Council has chosen to do business with Citroen once again.”
