The results of a survey by fleet software firm Tracker have revealed that the majority of businesses using telematics believe it helps them to boost efficiency and to slash costs.
A total of 63% of firms employing the technology said that it had saved them money and 22% said it helped to improve fuel consumption as a result of better route planning. The biggest savings were said to be in the utilities sector, with 73% of respondents in this area reporting reduced costs.
Stephen Doran, Tracker’s MD, said: “Now with fuel prices reaching record highs it has never been more important for businesses to explore avenues to make savings.”
