DS has updated its lower-medium hatchback with a new name and a new electric powertrain option.

Formerly known as the DS4, the model is now called the No4.

The new EV version, badged E-Tense, features a 213hp motor, and has a range of up to 279 miles on the official WLTP combined cycle. A 20-80% battery charge is possible in less than 30 minutes using a 100kW public charger.

Other powertrain options include a new-generation 225hp plug-in hybrid, which offers a WLTP combined EV-only range of 50 miles, and a 145hp 48V hybrid.

Other changes to the model include an updated front end design with a wider black grille and a new light signature.

The model comes with a choice of Pallas, Pallas+, Etoile, and Etoile Nappa equipment grades.

The Pallas grade is EV-only, priced at £36,995; The Pallas+ grade is £32,200 for a 48V hybrid, £39,000 for a plug-in hybrid, and £39,160 for an EV; the Etoile grade is £35,000 for a 48V hybrid, £41,800 for a plug-in hybrid, and £41,860 for an EV; and the Etoile Nappa is £37,400 for a 48V hybrid, and £44,200 for a plug-in hybrid.

DS says that 48V hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions are £2,430 and £2,390 cheaper respectively compared with their pre-update equivalents.

Orders are open now, with the first cars due in showrooms in Q4.
