Jaguar has revealed a revised version of its E-Pace SUV, including a plug-in hybrid powertrain option.
The new PHEV pairs a 1.5-litre, 200hp petrol engine with a 109hp electric motor, and has a 15kWh battery, providing up to 34 miles of electric driving range.
Fuel economy and CO2 emissions figures on the WLTP cycle are up to 141mpg and 44g/km respectively.
The updated E-Pace range also features a range of mild hybrid powertrains – 163hp and 204hp diesels, and 200hp, 249hp and 300hp petrols – along with a 163hp conventional diesel engine. All except the latter come with all-wheel drive and automatic transmission.
Another mechanical change is a switch to a new platform, Jaguar’s Premium Transverse Architecture, in order to accommodate the electrified powertrains.
Benefits of this include new engine mounts, which Jaguar says contributes to improved throttle response, and improved front suspensions attachment point stiffness, which is claimed to deliver a more comfortable ride while retaining handling agility.
The updated E-Pace features exterior changes including an aerodynamically optimised bumper, revised lower apertures, new all-LED headlights and a new grille.
Inside, there’s Jaguar Land Rover’s latest Pivi Pro infotainment system, accessed through a new 11.4in curved touchscreen.
Software-over-the-air capability allows vehicle and infotainment systems to be seamlessly updated, and a cabin air ionisation system captures ultrafine particles and allergens for improved air quality.
The updated E-Pace is available to order now. Prices start at £32,575 for an entry-level car with the 163hp diesel engine. Prices for the PHEV start at £45,995.
Jaguar Land Rover UK general manager for fleet and business Andrew Jago said: “The introduction of plug-in hybrid technology to the E-Pace further strengthens the appeal of Jaguar to fleet and business customers.
“With PHEV variants of the fully updated E-Pace and F-Pace delivering low cost of ownership and Benefit in Kind tax from just 10%, the Jaguar SUV range is ideally positioned to complement strong fleet demand for the all-electric Jaguar I-Pace.”
