Volvo has added a plug-in hybrid powertrain to its S60 saloon range, along with two new equipment grades.
The new T8 powertrain pairs a 303hp petrol engine with an 87hp electric motor, for a total output of 390hp.
It comes with four-wheel drive, and an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
The T8 is equipped with an 11.8kWh battery, providing an electric-only range of up to 36 miles.
Official combined fuel economy and CO2 emissions figures are up to 176.5mpg and from 39g/km respectively.
The T8 is only available with the new R-Design Plus equipment grade, which features standard equipment including a head-up display, gearshift paddles, gloss black exterior trim elements, alloy wheel measuring 18in, 19in or 20in, aluminium interior inlays and part-leather sports seats.
The R-Design Plus grade is also available with the existing T5 250hp petrol engine, with which it also features a sports suspension set-up.
The T5 engine is also available with the new Inscription Plus equipment grade, which features equipment including Nappa full-leather upholstery, driftwood décor inlays and cooled seats.
Adaptive dampers have also been added to the S60 range, as an optional with T5 R-Design Plus and Inscription Plus cars.
The updated S60 range is available to order now, priced at £37,935 for a T5 R-Design Plus, £38,835 for a T5 Inscription Plus, and £49,805 for a T8 R-Design Plus.
A 405hp T8 Polestar Engineered version of the S60 is also set to join the range soon.
