The Volvo XC60 has been named UK Car of the Year 2018.
The SUV was one of 13 cars shortlisted for the award as winners in individual categories.
After a tightly fought judging process, the XC60 beat the Skoda Kodiaq to the crown by a single point. The BMW 5 Series finished third.
Jon Wakefield, Volvo’s UK managing director, said: “Winning both the overall UK Car of the Year and Best Medium Crossover awards is a fantastic achievement for Volvo.
“The awards reflect the desirability and sophistication of the XC60, and the elegant Scandinavian design, cutting-edge technology and luxurious equipment levels have proved a big hit with customers.”
The awards, established in 2014, are supported by Cox Automotive and the jury is made up of 27 leading motoring journalists, including BusinessCar editor Debbie Wood.
