A telematics analysis tool designed to help managers predict the future of their fleets has been produced by Volkswagen Financial Services (VWFS) Fleet.
The Future Fleet Analysis tool takes data from a company’s telematics system and analyses each vehicle’s driving data.
Users of VWFS Fleet’s own telematics system can upload journey data to the tool, or alternatively, download a template document that avails itself to different telematics systems.
The tool then advises which vehicles could be suitable for a switch to electric or plug-in hybrid technology, as well as those best suited to petrol or diesel fuel, and what potential fuel savings could be made by making the suggested changes.
VWFS Fleet says this allows fleet decision makers to quickly identify and make fuel choice decisions across a number of vehicles in seconds.
VWFS Fleet head of sales and marketing Tom Brewer said: “More and more companies are investigating the possibility of adding ultra-low emission vehicles to their fleets, but it’s often complicated and time-consuming to determine which vehicles are appropriate, and how to do so.
“We wanted to create this tool for customers and the wider fleet industry, so managers can showcase how many drivers are good candidates for electric vehicles to key stakeholders across their organisations.
“As a multi-marque leasing company, we’re well placed to tailor the solutions we offer our customers to deliver the best fit.
“This tool is the first part of the offering which we’re developing to help the industry take advantage of the opportunity EV presents.”
